Using imagery from various photographs and
postcards, we made our own miniature three-
dimensional sets, including a 'background'
and 'foreground'.
We then looked at the models from an appropriate
viewpoint using a tripod and a digital SLR camera.
Playing with lo-tech cinematic effects such as
lighting techniques, the illusion of background
and foreground and depth of field, the sets
came to life.
We then made some simple 'characters' to
add to our sets. Using flat-hinged puppets,
we explored simple stop frame animation
techniques' Tom then combined the sets
with the animated sequences.. |
