Story so far
Background to the scheme:
Thompson Street is a strategic route linking the main shopping centre of Barry, historically with
the docks and today with the Waterfront residential
and retail area. A designated area of wall situated
outside the Home Bargains retail centre is to be
the site for a new and exciting public art scheme.
The artworks will form part of the Thompson Street
regeneration scheme, which comprises narrowing
of the carriageway and widening of pavements,
complete re-surfacing, creation of parking bays
and designated crossing points, new street lighting
and tree planting and new street furniture.
By employing different visual aesthetics that can
be found in the history of cinema and
printing techniques, Tom plans to present a
series of artworks that embodies the vibrant
and rich qualities of Barry and its heritage
