INTERVIEW WITH SALFORD RESIDENT, ARTHUR McMULLEN
r e s u l t s . . . . . .
interview with resident of Salford,
Arthur McMullen

Manager April Jolly
BROUGHTON HOUSE
HOME FOR EX-SERVICE PERSONNEL
PARK LANE
SALFORD M7 4JD

held at the above 7.12.06
Arthur McMullen has lived in Salford for most of his life - apart from the time he spent in the Royal Navy during World War Two.

During his time in the Armed Forces, he served in the Royal Navy for the Coastal Forces in South East Asia, Ceylon, Columbia and Malaya.

In the early years the McMullen family lived in Paradise, Greengate. From the age of 14, Arthur worked as a coalman delivering to the residents of Salford. The photo Arthur is holding shows himself with his brother after a day delivering coal, enjoying himself with a pint down one of his locals, The three Terriers, Wick Lane.

Arthur kindly agreed to discuss his early memories of Salford with me and to hear an edited recording of our conversation, please click here:
