The narratives found in these artworks are a common thread found in Tom’s work and stem from an explorative and humorous approach to subject matters such as cinema, pop art, science fiction and low-tech special effects.
These artworks investigate the use of a digital Oscilloscope. An oscilloscope is a laboratory instrument commonly used to display and analyse the waveform of electronic signals.
The audio is composed employing the sonic vocabulary of a digital Moog synthesizer, (invented by the American engineer Robert Moog in 1964) which originates from a modular synthesizer and offers an infinite combinations of audio tones.
